Why Pilates Matwork?
The SoulSpace Pilates Matwork Training Programme is the most in-depth, in-person and comprehensive Pilates training course in the UK. We are also the only studio in the UK to offer a Level 4 Pilates certification, providing an advanced standard of education that goes beyond foundational teacher training.
The course develops a deep understanding of movement, anatomy, biomechanics and Pilates practice through structured learning and practical application.
Designed for those progressing towards teaching, as well as practitioners wishing to deepen their personal practice, the programme helps students build both technical knowledge and the confidence to apply Pilates principles with clarity and intention.
Led by Teacher Trainers Owen Hutchinson and Pippa Travers, the programme combines online study, in-person training weekends, self-practice and guided teaching development within a grounded and supportive learning environment.

A Mentorship-led Approach
This SoulSpace Certified programme is YMCA-accredited and developed by Owen Hutchinson and Pippa Travers, combining practical teaching experience with a mentorship-led approach to Pilates Matwork education.
Designed to develop a deeper understanding of movement, anatomy, biomechanics, and Pilates, the programme blends in-person training weekends with online, self-practice, independent study and guided teaching development within a grounded and supportive learning environment.
Rather than focusing solely on choreography and sequencing, students are supported in building technical understanding, teaching clarity, and confidence in applying Pilates principles within a professional studio setting.
Owen leads the in-person training weekends, drawing on more than 20 years of teaching and studio ownership experience across Australia and the UK. Pippa guides the online learning modules and tutorials, with a focus on anatomy, movement understanding, and practical application.
